Ready and waiting . . . . .

I'm still two weeks from my due date, but last Monday at my weekly checkup, I was already dialated to a three and 50% thinned. So after hearing that news last week I sure hope we have something to report soon! This week had been so LONG!! My next appointment is in three days and I hope they just send me to the hospital because we live two hours away from the doctor. We'll see how it goes.
Sadie has been really good at thinking about what to say in her prayers and being very heartfelt about what to ask for. Last night at bedtime prayers she asked "for our baby girl to come out of mommy's belly soon, please". I couldn't help but smile and add my own sentiments to that in my head at the time. Mommy is really ready for this baby to come. Lexi kisses my belly a lot and other than that she has no idea what rude awakening is in store for her. She has become very clingy and a "mommy" girl this last week, she must sense that change is in the air.
On a good note, Cory finally had a break from paying jobs to start building a bully barn for some of our stuff! YEA!!! This has been a long time coming and I have been outside right along with him (yes pregnant) as we have built this thing. It is a 20 foot by 24 foot space that will house all of our food storage walled off in one side, Cory's bowflex machine, my craft area and a spare bed/room of sorts with toys and a TV to help entertain kids when the notion arises. This will free up space in my house so I can actually put up the crib in the third bedroom for our baby. Currently this room is storing boxes of my craft stuff, sewing supplies, baby/kid clothes and lots of odds and ends. It will also free up my mud room which currently has food storage strategically placed throughout, to let Cory actually come in the mud room door and not have to go around in the main door.
So we are staying busy but enjoying our summer as it flies by. If we complete all the projects and things we want to do this summer I will be amazed. Sooner or later Cory will have to find a paying gig again, and there goes my labor for all my projects. But until then I plan to utilize what I've got! Then I can get to my labor on the inside of the house I guess.

Yea, I'm that bad-

I really have gotten in a bad habit of not getting my pictures on the computer and posting them. You all know that since the last post I had was two months ago or more. But I'm on track and I will be doing some back dating so bear with me as new posts from May and June appear as well as the current ones. I'm sorry for the lack of communication and ask forgiveness to all those I have not kept updated.
Today was a typical Sunday. We all get up and I work on breakfast/kid occupying while Cory gets ready for church and leaves the house by 8:30 a.m. Then I get the kids ready and put them in front of the TV watching a Living Scriptures movie while I fast and furiously get ready for church. We leave to get to church a little early so I can set up the Nursery for my class and be ready for kids at 10 a.m. I have eight kids in my Nursery and usually have a helper there but not always. Then I wrestle two girls who try to get candy out of Grandpa, Grandma and two uncles during sacrament meeting while Cory sits up in his appointed chair for his calling as Ward Clerk. By the time church is over I am beat, being 36 weeks pregnant does not help either. However today I had to be so grateful for my Sadie and her take on life. She is so smart and has such a sense of humor that gets me through these long days.
We were all outside this afternoon playing in the rock pile out by our house. Cory and I have resorted to spelling words we don't want Sadie to hear (I'm sure you have all done that). We were trying to decide what to do the rest of the afternoon and Cory said "Let's go for a D-R-I-V-E" Sadie pipes up casually "Yea, let's go for a ride." So then Cory said to me "Should we go to K-U-R-T and J-A-N?" Thinking he was outsmarting his daughter who had probably heard grandma and grandpa spelled out numerous times, little did he know that he was outsmarted anyway when Sadie replied "That spells Grandma and Grandpa's right daddy?" I couldn't keep from laughing when the shock registered on Cory's face of how he didn't fool Sadie at all. Little girls know more than we think!!

Potty at the park?

At one of my last appointments in Rexburg I decided to take the kids to the spray park and let them play for a while for something fun to do. Cory was sending us off out the door and he said "Hey be sure to take pictures of some of those hotties at the park for me." Sadie got a real puzzled look on her face and said, "Of course there is a potty at the park daddy, and if you HAVE to have a picture we'll take one for you." I died laughing. We didn't look for hotties at the park and we did have to use the potty a time or two. My sister Jenn met us there and the kids had a great time playing together.

July 4th

We had a great time over the fourth. We woke up to go to the Leadore EMT Breakfast which has this delicious strawberry rhubarb syrup for their pancakes. We got our breakfast just in time to look at the booths around the walkway and get a spot for the parade. It was a decent parade. There were lots of entries this year along with the usual fire department, ambulances, horses and trucks. Sadie and Lexi got lots of candy, handouts and otter pops from the parade this year. After visiting with neighbors, family and friends I took Lexi home for a nap (I needed one too)while Cory and Sadie went to the rodeo. We spent the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Bird's house eating lots of delicious food and playing outside. We went to the fireworks in Leadore this year. Cory is a member of the volunteer Fire Department so he got to be ready with the water just in case a fire started. Sadie was impressed with the fireworks as was Lexi. Lexi was sitting by her Uncle Cody and she just kept telling him "More Oty More". (She can't quite pronounce Cody yet.) We had a fun filled day with family and friends while celebrating our freedom. We are so blessed to live in a land where we get to exercise our freedom. I feel so lucky to live in such a land.

Lexi was trying to give Sadie a bouquet of flowers but Sadie was too busy riding around on the basketball court.

Cory and Sadie headed to the rodeo in Leadore. They took the 4-wheeler to try and cool off in the breeze! The rodeo grounds aren't very far from our house so it was a short fun ride for Sadie.

Sadie got handed a necklace at the parade and she got her face painted as well at one of the booths. She was decked out!

I took the time to make their T-Shirts this year and hair bows. I didn't get great pictures of them but you can kind of see them.
